Wasn’t it pop-star Huey Lewis who sang “All I want is a couple days off!”? Don’t we all? Sometimes life seems like an ongoing rat race with getting the kids to soccer practice and the cat to the vet for her shots, plus a hamper that resembles a volcano spewing a never-ending flow of dirty laundry. A couple days off would be a godsend for most of us.

Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park are those pre-selected vacation sites, or you just won’t go there unless it’s by mistake. Whether you’re headed west on US Interstate 70 leaving Grand Junction, CO or you’re headed east out of Utah, there just isn’t a visible clue to the unique beauty of these two vacation spots. You look out the window at the great western desert, minus the cacti, and your reaction may well be, “How soon can we get out of this… this nothing?”

Palm Spring is a famous oasis resort nestled between the mountains, not far from the Mojave Desert in California. It is a great destination to visit on a California Holiday with its many fairways, spa resorts and great entertainment.

Palm Springs is the ancestral home of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Their ancient healing mineral waters are still a part of the success story of Palm Springs. In the 1920s and 30s Palm Springs became known as the playground of the stars, and continued to be right through to the 1970s.
