The City of 300 Bridges

Saint Petersburg is located in the North Western Federal District of Russia on the Neva river. It was formerly known as Petrograd and Leningrad.

St Petersburg has been dubbed the Venice of the North for its palace-lined waterways. Sculpted by islands and the sinuous Neva River, the city is a vista of geometric elegance.

It is often called The City of 300 Bridges. It is built on what originally was more than 100 islands created by a maze of rivers, creeks, canals and other bodies of water, with the Neva river being the main waterway. Read the rest of this entry »

Experience a Mediterranean Delight by visiting The Maltese Islands

The Maltese Islands is a paradise of five Islands located in the heart of the Mediterranean, two of which are uninhabited. Malta is the main Island, followed by Gozo and Comino which is the smallest of the inhabited Islands.

Each of these Islands is a paradise of luxury surrounded by the clearest lush waters of the Mediterranean. These Islands are steeped in history, and is one of the most Conquered places in the World. Its strategic position making most major powers envious of its position thus encouraged them to try and take control. Antarctic Cruise - An Adventure Vacation For Everybody

If you really want to get away from it all, think about a cruise to Antarctica.

Underneath the ice at the South Pole is a land mass that used to be much nearer the equator, where it was forested with a normal variety of animal life. AS the continent drifted south, at a rate of centimetres a century, the species living there evolved to cope with the changing climate.

Those animals still live there. The continent, or at least the Southern Ocean surrounding it are teeming with wildlife. This is the only place on Earth where wild animals have not learnt to be afraid of humans, meaning that you can get really close to these animals in their natural habitat.
