It is a country that is considered to be the sacred land. More Roman Catholics visit Italy than anywhere else in the world. From the earliest ancient times, when Caesar ruled, and the coliseum was used to punish and kill Christians, Italy was the most feared country in the world. However, today, Italy is a well-developed and evolved country with many attractions to offer the world. Taking a vacation in Italy is a dream for many Americans with who are of Roman Catholic origin.
Rome is perhaps the most visited city in Italy. It is considered the holy city because the Pope of the Roman Catholic religion resides here. Every year, millions of people flock to Rome to hear the Pope give mass. Rome also offers its visitors many different ancient structures such as the coliseum and monuments as well as palaces and churches from the medieval era.

Thousands of tourists travel through Tuscany each year, attracted by the most beautiful countryside and weather. The restaraunts in this region serve some of the finest cuisine and wines, along with the warmest of welcomes from the local people. This region of Italy is by far the prettiest with lush green pastures, fields covered with scarlet poppies,vineyards and an abundance of olive groves. Many tourists travel through Tuscany on their way to the city of Florence, which is well known and recognised for the works of art that were once produced in the renaissance years.
Another city in the Tuscany region that tourists flock to is Pisa. It is in Pisa that the leaning tower stands. Pisa also offers many different shops and boutiques where tourists can find unusual and unique gifts to bring home. The restaurants in Pisa consist of street vendors, sidewalk cafes and five star restaurants. The cuisine in all of these establishments is incredible. Many people choose to eat their meals on the grassy square and take in all of the impressive architecture.
