The black bear interrupts its roadside foraging to glance reproachfully at the intruders. The bus driver has slowed down so that we can gape. His cry alerting the passengers is one we hear often on the Alaska Highway, and not just for bear sighting.
Dall sheep, standing out in brilliant white against rocky mountain slopes. Moose, elk, grizzlies in the distance. A lone wolf slouching across our path. Caribou sighting becomes old hat.

Colorado Springs is the most populated city in El Paso County, Colorado. Home to over 372,000 inhabitants, Colorado Springs is the 2nd most populated city in the State of Colorado.

If you find yourself traveling in Japan this summer, the must see event of the year is the 2008 Fuji Rock Festival running Friday July 25th until Sunday July 27th. Originally inspired by Britain’s Glastonbury Festival, the Fuji Rock Festival acquired its name due to the first event in 1997 being held on the foot of famous Mt Fuji. Since 1999, the annual festival has been held in Naeba in Niigata prefecture, 200 km north-west of Tokyo.
