When you are searching online for various different ski resorts in PA where you can vacation on your next winter holiday there are plenty to select from. They are all situated within three specific geographical areas of the state of Pennsylvania and so are all easily accessible.

There are those resorts which are located in the eastern part of the County in the Pocono Mountains, there are some to the West in the Alleghenies Mountains. Then there are those to the south located in mountain region close to the towns of Harrisburg and Gettysburg.

The advantage that the resorts in the Poconos have over those situated in the other areas is that they are close to the states much larger cities including New York City and Philadelphia. Whilst those towards the west are situated closer to Pittsburgh, Ohio and West Virginia. Whilst the final resorts that are located in the southern part of the state are ideally situated for those coming from Washington DC or Baltimore.

Below we are now going to take a look at some of the resorts that are proving popular not only with US citizens but with others who enjoy skiing from around the world.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort - Is situated in the south eastern part of Pennsylvania and is only 65 miles away from Philadelphia and 95 miles from New York City. It has many different ski runs and the longest of them all is 1.5 miles. As well as offering facilities for skiing this resort allows you to try out snowboarding and snow tubing throughout the winter months.

Camelback Ski Area - Located in the north eastern part of Pennsylvania in the very heart of the Pocono Mountains. Again as with Bear Creek this resort offers not just the facilities for skiing, but also for snowboarding and snow tubing as well. It is much closer to New York City which is just 80 miles away, but slightly further away from Philadelphia which is 90 miles away.

Shawnee Mountain Ski Area - Another one of the many ski resorts located in the Pocono Mountains and it is again some distance to travel from New York City and Philadelphia as is Camelback. But actually accessing the resort is relatively easily as it is situated close to I-80 (Interstate Highway 80). But as with all the resorts we mention in this article it offers slopes to suit any skier whether a complete novice or professional.

We have mentioned just a few of the ski resorts in PA that are worth considering for your next skiing vacation, but as well as these there are resorts such as Tanglwood, Ski Sawmill and Seven Springs Mountain to consider as well. A quick search online and you will be able to discover what facilities which each one has to offer and which one would be best suited to the level of skiing experience that you have.
