At The Holladay House Bed and Breakfast in Orange, Virginia, innkeepers Sam and Sharon Elswick pull out all the stops to make holidays special at their historic inn. Each year, they create gourmet Thanksgiving feasts for their guests, complete with all the trimmings. The dinner is just $45 per guest and includes a dozen different recipes, as well as fine local wines.

To further entice guests, the Elswick’s are offering a special rate for guests who book more than one night’s stay. Book two nights, and you receive the next night at 25 percent off the usual rates. If you book three nights, your first two nights are at the regular rates, but the third night is 50 percent off. Built in’30, this stately Federal-style building has a rich history and is one of the stops on the Journey Through Hallowed Ground. This journey, created by the National Parks Service, includes dozens of historic spots along Virginia Route 15. The innkeepers have restored The Holladay House to its former glory, but offer plenty of modern amenities, such as guest rooms with whirlpool tubs and fireplaces.

Three presidential homes are just a few minutes from this Virginia bed and breakfast. Montpelier, home of James Madison, is only four miles away. The innkeepers offer many interesting packages that include treks to Montpelier. Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and James Monroe’s lovely home Ash-Lawn Highland are about 30 minutes drive from the inn, as well. In addition, The Holladay House is located within Virginia’s booming wine country and the innkeepers offer free wine tasting passes to several local wineries.
