Your Branson Calendar from the Lodges at Table Rock: August 2010

As summer winds down toward its “official” end at Labor Day, the heat is on in the Missouri Ozarks. Around Branson and Silver Dollar City, though, it’s not about the temperature. It’s about the fun.

If there’s a change in the air, it’s just that new events and activities are coming, so many that there’s no way to cover them all. From a Fiddle Festival to a Bikers & Babes at the Beach party, there’s something — probably many things — for everybody.

If you’ve ever stayed at the Lodges At Table Rock, the place many people think of as their second home, you’ve come to realize that it’s a cut above other lodges in Branson and offers convenient lodging near Silver Dollar City, the world-famous theme park that has been attracting visitors for decades.

Although the Branson area has its appeal to bikers and babes, it’s also the ideal family getaway, and the Lodges at Table Rock is perfect for families and groups. The four-bedroom/four-bath and six-bedroom/six-bath lodges offer plenty of space, as well as all the together time and privacy people could want. August is rich in activities for adults, kids and families in Branson. Here are a few examples:

National KidsFest, June 5 – August 8, Silver Dollar City. It’s America’s biggest KidsFest and the perfect place to let your inner child run free — along with your real kids. There are shows especially for families, banana split-eating contests, more than 30 rides for thrills or just fun and many other attractions. You’ll also find plenty to eat and drink among the award-winning concessions.

Moonlight Madness at Silver Dollar City, July 24 – August 8, Silver Dollar City. Stay up late and pay less for the great rides at Silver Dollar City. The park will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. so the whole family can ride the roller coasters and other thrill rides for a few hours longer. Arrive after 5:00 and pay just $20.

Shepherd Super Summer Cruise, August 1 – August 30. The premier car event in Branson, the Cruise is held annually in August. More than 500 cars and trucks are on display at The Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead. It concludes with the Midnight Cruise down The Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.

Southern Gospel Picnic at Silver Dollar City, August 26 – September 6, Silver Dollar City. This is America’s greatest southern gospel gathering. It’s the music of the Ozarks and there’s none better.
