Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend, Bridget Marquardt, is a huge fan of horror and the occult and so on her recent Croatia holiday she couldn’t resist visiting the haunted island of Lokrum. However, as Bridget soon found out the haunted island was not full of ghosts, but rather scenic plunge pools and hidden coves.
Bridget may have been caught diving in the crystal clear plunge-pools by the local paparazzi, but in truth the island remains unusually secluded. Locals stay away from the island because of the curse, whilst tourists on their holidays in Croatia remain unaware of its charms.

2009 – the year of value, budgets and research, especially when it comes to holidays.
I am not sure of the general opinion, but I for one am fed up of every business, tourist office and guide telling me that their region offers the best value, that they alone can allow you to holiday in style for next to no money. So where actually does offer outstanding value for those of us trying to escape

Croatia is beautiful all year long, but as with anywhere that you want to take a holiday, there are a few times a year when it is better to plan your vacation. If you like the hustle and bustle of a crowd, any of the summer months, from June to August, are a perfect time to visit. However, if you like to have much of the area to yourself, your best bet is to go during May or September.

Located 28 kilometers south of Zadar is a small city port called Biograd, famous for its wonderful waters and comfortable temperature. Found in the most indentend part of the Croatian Adriatic Coast, Biograd offers excellent opportunities for nautical tourism and sailing. Near the area are three national parks - Paklenica, Kornati Archipelago and Krka. There are also nearby nature parks - Telašcica and Vransko lake.
