I recently had the honor of embarking on that very American of rituals: the road trip — specifically, a cross-country trip. While a journey from my native London to Glasgow takes approximately a day, to travel from one end of the United States (my adopted home) to the other requires at least a week to accomplish in style.

The road trip is a great American tradition. There’s nothing like the feeling you get when you hit the road, your everyday life dwindling in your rear-view mirror, with endless possibilities for fun and adventure in front of you. We’re lucky to live in one of the most scenic, wide-open, and geographically diverse countries in the world, with everything from mountains, to plains, to deserts, to exciting cosmopolitan cities, all spread out between two vast oceans.

Go on a jaunt today. After a whole week of hectic schedules filled with a plethora of activities like preparing an important presentation, attending important meetings, taking your child to school, taking your spouse to shopping, you literally feel the need to have some time exclusively for yourself.
If you have a car, then all you have to do is pick up your car keys, get out of the office or house, put the keys into ignition and drive yourselves to the top 10 scenic drives around the world, for a ride surely energizes you to the core.
